About the event
In order to incorporate valuable public feedback, the Town of Lexington has revised the design for the Sunset Split project. With a goal of alleviating traffic congestion and improving traffic flow in the area surrounding the intersection of US 378 at Corley Mill Road, the “Sunset Split” project will separate the eastbound and westbound lanes of US 378. The project will include relocating Corley Mill Road to tie into US 378 on the west side of the TD Bank Administrative building. Riverchase Way will also be relocated to tie into a new intersection with Corley Mill Road adjacent to the Corley Mill Plaza. This revised design improves traffic flow and shortens travel time by allowing more signal “green time” for US 378, Corley Mill Road, and Ginny Lane, as well as improving access to Riverchase Way.
